Removal
Whether your tree is dead, dangerous, planted too close to your home, or you're putting on that addition, sometimes trees just have to be removed. Let the removal experts at D&B Tree remove that tree with safety, knowledge, and experience. We have the proper equipment to tackle the most difficult jobs.  Tight spots, precarious places, or large dangerous trees are not a problem for the experts.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding is simply the most cost-effective way to get rid of unwanted and unsightly tree stumps and major surface roots. This process is done with minimal disturbance to the surrounding area. Most stumps are ground to a depth of 6-12 inches in order to allow for loam and seed. If you want a complete look have your stumps ground. Some benefits of this procedure include:
-Improve appearance of your landscape
-Opens areas for new plantings
-Prevents tree from growing back
-Clears yard of potential hazards
-Eliminates breeding sights for insects
-Minimizes disturbances to neighboring trees and root systems
Pruning
A wise investment is to obtain a tree pruning maintenance program. Pruning your trees keeps them safe, healthy, and beautiful. Benefits to pruning include:
-Removal of dead, diseased or broken branches
-Eliminates sucker and wild shoot growth
 -Holds tree within its bounds
-Allows wind to pass through tree freely, lessening the chance of tree failure
-Eliminates breeding sites for disease, insects, and decay
-Shapes tree for esthetics
-Improves the appearance
-Improves the overall structure and health of the tree
Fertilizing
We use an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer in accordance with national standards. The fertilizer is injected directly into the root zone for maximum benefit. Our feeder is a low-pressure injection that protects the delicate root system of the plants and trees. Fertilization should be done periodically. Call one of our consulting arborists to survey your property as to the types of trees and plants you have, and their individual needs. We can arrange a maintenance program for your property to keep it looking beautiful. Some of the benefits of deep root fertilizing your trees and plants are:
-Nutrients and water go directly to the roots
-Aeration of the soil
-Improved tree health
-Luxuriant foliage
-Improved tree vigor
-Encourages new growth
Remember, trees in stress caused by cold, heat, wind, and drought promote disease and insect infestation. A happy tree is a healthy tree. Make sure your trees and plants are well fertilized and properly watered.
Disease and Insect Control
One of the more common pests in our region is the HEMLOCK WOOLLY ADELGID.  The hemlock woolly adelgid, Adelges tsugae, has been in the United States since 1924. This introduced insect, believed to be native of Asia, is a serious pest of eastern hemlock and Carolina hemlock. White cottony sacs at the base of the needles are good evidence of a hemlock woolly adelgid infestation. These sacs resemble the tips of cotton swabs. They are present throughout the year, but are most prominent in early spring. By sucking sap from the young twigs, the insect retards or prevents tree growth causing needles to discolor from deep green to grayish green and to drop prematurely. The loss of new shoots and needles seriously impairs tree health. Defoliation and tree death can occur within several years if left untreated.
There are many insect and diseases that are our trees are exposed to.  Our consulting arbosists are able to diagnose any insect or disease.  We have several treatments available and we are able to set you up on a treatment plan of your choice.
Cabling and Bracing
Cabling and bracing is a great way to preserve a tree or reduce liability. Cabling involves installing steel cables or rods between major limbs to reduce strain and help support the tree. Cabling also helps reduce stress damage from snow, ice, and high winds. Cabling and bracing a tree reduces the risk of tree failure.
Storm Damage
No one can prevent the kind of tree damage caused by severe weather events such as high winds, snow storms, ice storms, or hurricanes. Don't wait until Mother Nature sends a tree crashing down on that new car, or even worse - your home. Take care of safety and liability concerts before it is too late. Anything that looks suspicious deserves attention.  Call one of our trained expert arborists to evaluate your property. If damage is done to your home or property, be assured that an emergency team is always on call at D&B Tree Service.  We are only a phone call away!
